CAPTURING YOUR FAMILY JUST AS YOU ARE

DOCUMENTARY-STYLE FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY IN GRAND RAPIDS, MI

A peace symbol with colored sections in lavender, pink, olive green, and blue.
Two young girls eating snacks in a cozy room. One girl in a pink top and blue shorts is standing near a chalkboard wall, holding a glass jar and eating a snack with a string. The other girl, in a black top and white shorts, is leaning against the doorway, eating a snack and looking at the first girl. In the background, there is a bookshelf filled with books and a window with a plant nearby.

PHOTO SESSIONS THAT FEEL MORE LIKE PLAYDATES

An LR Photos session isn't something you survive — it's something you actually enjoy. Think less "everybody look at the camera" and more a hang at home that happens to be beautifully documented. You bring the snacks, the inside jokes, the sibling chaos. And I'll bring the camera and quietly disappear into the background while your family does what your family does.

Because here's the thing about kids: they don't perform on command, and honestly, you wouldn't want them to. The real magic — the belly laughs, the spontaneous piggyback rides, the moment your littlest reaches up to grab your hand without thinking — that stuff only shows up when everyone's forgotten they're supposed to be taking photos. It’s my job is to create the conditions for that to happen, then get out of the way and let it.

Low-Pressure Family Photography

neurodivergent-friendly

My photo sessions are built around your family's pace, not a predetermined script. There's no pressure to perform, no rushing through poses — just space to show up exactly as you are.

accepting

Every family looks different, and that's not just okay here: it's the whole point. My lens is judgment-free, full stop. Whether you’re an LGBTQ+ family, a single parent, or polyamorous, I’m proud to photograph you!

documentary-style

Rather than directing your family into a photo, I document the one that's already happening. I observe, wait, and pay attention to catch the moments that feel most like you.
